Find where the audio stops.
If subtitles are missing, check the CABLE Output audio meter first. If teammate audio is silent, check the game output and the virtual cable listening destination. Test one path at a time.
No teammate subtitles
- Confirm voice chat is enabled and someone is speaking.
- Select CABLE Input in the game and CABLE Output as teammate input in ValComms.
- Check the Windows recording meter. No activity means the routing needs attention first.
- If the meter moves, check that translation is running, your allowance is available and the network works.
- Retest with a clear short sentence. Overlapping speakers, music and quiet input can reduce recognition quality.
Subtitles work, but teammates are silent
Check the listening destination for CABLE Output. It should be your current headphones or speakers, with audio unmuted. Recheck this destination after changing headphones.
Your microphone is not translated
Select the physical microphone, allow desktop microphone access in Windows and check for push-to-talk conflicts. Verify the microphone meter in Windows before retesting in the client.
Speech playback is silent or echoes
Check translated speech playback and its output device. Streamer mode behaves differently and some modes do not play translated speech. Use headphones and avoid feeding playback into the same capture path.
The overlay is missing
Check visibility and opacity, move the overlay back to the main display and try borderless windowed mode in the game. Lock the overlay after positioning it.
Report a reproducible issue
Record the client and Windows versions, selected audio devices, time and translation mode. Include whether the meter moves, subtitles appear and audio is audible. Use client feedback or official support channels. Do not publish passwords, payment records or other people"s recordings.
